This past weekend, my sorority sisters and I headed to the charming city of Charlottesville for a bachelorette weekend and I’m happy to report we made it out alive!

I’ve shared what I’ve worn to hit up wineries before – a summer to fall transitional outfit here and a first day of fall look here – so for today’s Wardrobe Diaries post I thought I’d kick it up a notch and also share some tips and tricks on how to navigate Charlottesville Wine Country.

If you’re from the DMV area (D.C., Maryland and Virginia) then I highly recommend making the 2 hour drive for a scenic weekend away. It’s far enough that you’re actually going to a destination but close enough that you don’t have to shell out money for airfare. So it’s a win-win all around.

We stayed in a hotel pretty central to the city, as we were in proximity to a very convenient shopping center that had tons of restaurant options and cute little shops. From what I could understand in my altered state (what? It was a bachelorette weekend after all!) the wineries are anywhere between 20 to 45 minutes outside of Charlottesville so booking transpiration is necessary if you’ll be partaking in the festivities. From there, I think it’s really important to make a plan on what wineries you’ll be hitting, if it’s more than one, to utilize your time wisely. Remember, account for the travel time between locations.

Our first stop was Veritas Winery, where these photos were taken, and then we hit up Kings Family Vineyards. Both places came equipped with breathtaking views, these photos don’t do it justice! I recommend packing blankets and plenty of snacks, otherwise you must partake in the a few tastings. With the wine, food, stunning locations and great company, the trip was just what the doctor ordered. I got to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of a dear friend and got to experience Charlottesville for the first time. Overall, an amazing weekend I’ll never forget!
