I feel like it’s taken me ages to get these photos up!? Both my family and friends have been hounding me to share via Facebook but I wanted to first lay it all out here on the blog. We celebrated Theo’s first birthday earlier this month, and while I was nervous and exhausted for planning two kid parties with not much recovery time in between, I love how little man’s dinosaur party turned out!
I opted for a much simplified party than Remy’s Moana themed birthday. And by simplified I mean less expensive, LOL. So what easier way to feed kids and their grown-up than by hosting a breakfast! I figured a breakfast would be less complicated to put together, and friends, I was right. I heated up an assortment of mini quiches, got grocery story fruit salad, squeezable applesauce pouches, picked up Dunkin Donut donut holes, coffee, hot chocolate and an assortment of their actual dounuts and called it a day.
We had rented out a picnic shelter at a local regional park, so I got there an hour beforehand to set up the super simple decorations and layout the spread. Breakfast was served on one table while Theo’s store-bought smash cake and the pyramid of donuts (for the guests) sat on another. I got the “uno” cake topper, stats board and highchair garland from Jodi, which I highly suggest. I gave her my vision and she whipped everything up in no time! She as so great, I cannot recommend her enough!
Theo’s birthday crown was from Little Blue Olive. Remy has had a crown from there for all of her birthday, except for this last one, so I wanted to continue the tradition for the little guy! The week before Theo’s birthday she just so happen to be having a major sale, too, so I ended up snagging the crown from only $5! The paper mache dinosaurs were from Target, as were the tiny silver dinos, which had been spray painted to go with the theme;) I grabbed the faux wood serving trays that held the donuts and the cake from Michael’s and that was it. All in all, the party went off without a hitch and I think everyone had a good time. Looking back at these photos reminds me that it was a day full of love for our little Theodore🙂
