3 Ways I Recharge as a Mother

Feeling like you’re spread too thin? Here are 3 things I do to recharge my momma batteries!

Being a mom is one of my most favorite jobs. But it’s also one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever taken on. I’m a working mom who also has a side gig (this blog), so it’s pretty easy for me to feel like I’m spreading myself too thin. This inevitably leads to exhaustion and frustration, and let’s just say, more often than not, I don’t quite feel like the best mom in the world.

In this stage in motherhood, I am constantly looking for ways to be a better momma to my kiddos. I thought that today I’d share a few things I try to regularly do on the daily to recharge so that I can be the best version of myself for them. If you’re a mom, I’d love it if you left a comment with a few things you do to be a better mother.

3 Ways I Recharge as a Mother

MAKE TIME FOR THINGS I LOVE.

As an enneagram 7, I’m always go-go-go which is great when you’re a mom but it can also be very depleting. It may seem counterintuitive, but a way that I find time for doing something I love is hitting the gym and getting physical. Having an outlet to do something you love is essential as a momma. Whatever your “passion” may be, find time to dedicate time to doing what you love often.

PAMPER MYSELF.

Raising tiny people is hard, so every mother deserves time to feel calm and relaxed. Whether you’re treating yourself to a massage, a mani-pedi, or simply to slap a face mask in the comfort of your own bedroom – take a few moments to yourself to loosen up and feel relaxed.

SPEND TIME OUTSIDE.

If you’re anything like me, you can’t be indoors for too long otherwise, you’ll develop cabin fever. I’m someone that needs to get out of the house and breathe in fresh air. Thankfully, my kids are the same so when the weather’s good we make sure we take advantage. We’re either hitting up the park, playing chalk just outside on our front steps, or out on a family walk – taking time outside always leaves me feeling recharged and refreshed.

Whether you’re a momma that needs alone time, quality family time, a tall glass of wine, or time outdoors – TAKE THE TIME YOU NEED TO RECHARGE! As mothers, if we’re feeling fried and depleted, there’s no way we can show up at our best, so do what needs to be done to breathe in new life into your day. I cannot stress enough the importance of doing what’s needed to be the best version of yourself because you deserve it.
