Would you believe it if I told you I wrote this post back in February?  After my trip to Cancun, I pull together this post, filed it away in my Drafts folder, and then completely forgot about it. Well, thank goodness for the mini digital cleanout I was doing this past weekend because here we are with a perfectly timely post!

In just a few short weeks I’ll be heading west to Lake Tahoe for a family vacation and you better believe I’ll be following this routine to a T in order to keep my skin looking fresh and hydrated from take-off to landing. For today’s post, I wanted to give y’all a peek into my toiletry bag, give you the deets on why I think these essential products are a must, and share some tips on how to fight skin dehydration due to plane cabin pressure. Isn’t that the worst?!

First off, I highly suggest keeping your toiletry bag prepped and ready to go. This way, you’re less likely to forget the basics like toothpaste, a razor, etc. These are the items I always keep on-the-ready, in case my husband whisks me away for the weekend. Yeah, right…

  • Facewash
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Razor
  • Bandaids
  • Q Tips
  • Travel Lotion
  • Tampons
  • Travel Sunscreen

Now, when it comes to other products I add into my toiletry bag, I try and keep it to the must-haves. There is very little real estate in my bag so I get pretty picky and cut-throat about the additions. Because skin tends to dry out while flying, I make sure to include products that will help rehydrate my skin after traveling and that’ll help fight acne. Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mask is great for the night after arrival to help reinject moisture into your skin.

Burt’s Bees Natural Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment – Not a skin product but definitely an essential. This balm is great for helping your lips avoid dryness and keeps them looking soft, smooth, healthy.

Kiehl’s Recovery Concentrate – I live for this serum! I like to slather this on right before take off to keep my skin super hydrated and smooth for the entire flight.

Olay Whip Moisturizer – Complete with SPF 25, this cream is super moisturizing and blends into the skin easily!

BeautyCounter Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream – This stuff is good and a godsend to my under eye area. Keeps that sensitive skins from looking dull and crepey.

Drunk Elephant Duo – This little set is perfect for travel and gives my skin the shot of vitamin C it needs to stay hydrated, clear and bright.
