My Top Face Oils & Toners

The third installment of my mini series around the skincare product I love! Today we tackle face oils and toners.

If you missed it, a few months ago I kicked off a mini series where I share my top skincare products. I started it off by sharing my top 8 cleansers and followed that with my top 8 serums. If you’re new around here, I take skincare very seriously which is why I thought this skincare series would be a fun one to create and share some of my favorite products.

My motto, especially now that I’m in my late 30s, is that you’re never too young to up your skincare game. My arsenal is extensive, and I’m okay with that. It consists of a wide array of cleansers, eye creams, serums, and everything in between. I.e. I know what I like and what I don’t like.

Today, I’m’ going to be sharing about my all time favorite face oils and toners.  An important note about face oils that most people don’t know – regardless of whether you have oily skin, dry or combination, applying face oils is important. It keeps your skin hydrated even if you overproduce oil. I like to seal in my serum by applying a face oil and then follow that up with moisturizer (which is the next product in the series!) Toners are another product I don’t switch up much because I know what I like.

**Exclaimer: I’d like to start off by saying that what works for me may not work for you. When it comes to skincare products, what you use and like is very dependent on your skin type, your hormones’, and so much more.

My Top 5 Face Oils

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil // I love a good face oil and at this price, I cannot recommend this product enough! It’s great for nourishing my skin, yet its lightweight. This oil is the perfect consistency, not too thick but not too light that it doesn’t feel effective. I absolutely love the way my skin feels the next morning after application.

Kiehl’s Recovery Concentrate // I live for this oil – it’s my holy grail oil! I like to slather this on a few nights a week to keep my skin super hydrated and smooth. It leaves my skin so glowy and hydrated throughout the entire day, and it smells amazing! One pump does the trick.

BeautyCounter’s No. 2 Plumping Facial Oil // This is another favorite! It smells divine, I almost like it as much as the Kiehl’s one. It’s supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines which is always a plus.

Sunday Riley’s Luna Retinol Sleeping Oil // This product is so great! If you suffer from skin dullness and texture, this product helps brighten and even out skin. It doesn’t dry out my skin or make it peel.

Elemis Rose Face Oil // I love this oil because it helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles plus it smell so freakin’ good! It’s lightweight, hydrates, and leaves a dewy finish to the skin.

My Top 5 Toners

Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner //This product is alcohol-free and is formulated to brighten the skin and dullness, not to mention it’s supposed to reduce the size of pores. Also, I love products that are packed with vitamin C – my skin loves it – and this one is. I have used this for both my morning and nighttime routine and I’m telling y’all, I see a difference! My skin is much more even and less textured, which is one of my issues. Note, the consistency of this toner is a tad different from regular toners. It’s slightly thicker and not overly watery.

Good Molecules Glycolic Exfoliating Toner // Another GM product that I’m highly impressed with! The glycolic acid exfoliates for smoother, brighter skin. My skin feels so soft and smooth the next morning, and again, it helps the texture of my skin. Unlike the niacinamide toner, this one is more of a toner, watery consistency.

Thayers Witch Hazel Toner // I’ll cut to the chance and say I’m a big fan of this toner. My skin always feels super soft and clean! I also love that there are organic ingredients, that’s a total plus! This toner has my seal of approval!

Pixi Glow Tonic // I tried this on a whim because I saw tone’s of bloggers talking about this toner, and well, I get it now. It does make your skin glow! Immediately after application my skin looked radiant, I was stunned! Suffice to say, I would highly recommend this tonic.

Kiehl’s Herbal Extract Toner // So this toner is formulated with calendula petals which helps with redness and irritation. I love how clean my face feels after I swipe a little of this toner on my face. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this product for someone with dry skin, this is more of a combination/oily skin type of product.
