If you haven’t noticed, I’m turning up the holiday volume around these parts, LOL! The first week of December kinda kicked my ass. With Theo home, stressing over finances since I went part-time earlier this year, and all the sorrow that comes with this time of the year, I wasn’t in the best headspace. In an attempt to ‘fake it till I make it’, as in, fake the Christmas spirit until it hits me, I figured I’d over decorate our home and dress the part. Funny enough, it’s working!
Our halls are decked, Freddy our elf is making the rounds at Casa de Mason, and I’m donning on all my plaids, sparkles, and holiday gear – consider me in the Christmas spirit! I’m a big fan of this outfit because it’s festive without going overboard, which I tend to do. What can I say, I love a good theme! This plaid isn’t the usual holiday plaid but the red gives you a hint of spirit. Paired with the olive green jacket and we have ourselves a subtle hint of Christmas spirit!
While I know things are looking a little different this year (damn you COVID), I really want to try to keep our traditions alive as much as possible. Zoo Lights won’t happen this year but I’m hoping we can still do Bull Run Festival of Lights and maybe even a neighborhood lights drive. We visited Santa this past weekend and it was surprisingly less stressful than I’d imagined. Tons of social distancing protocols were in place and plus you had to pre-register so the line wasn’t crazy. So as I said, let’s try and keep the traditions in 2020 and maybe even make some new ones!
