Supporting Small Business

This is a weird time, especially for small business owners. Let’s help support them the best way possible!

The world is kinda imploding right now, and while we’re all kinda struggling small business owners are really taking a hit. Let’s be real, big business and corporate America are also in a bind (hello did you hear about J.Crew?) but somehow I think they’ll be able to recover from life after coronavirus.

I wanted to dedicate today’s blog post to some of my favorite small businesses on the internet. While I’m trying to do my part by supporting them with my purchases, I think one of the easiest ways to show support is by spreading the good word. From jewelry to art, cheeky graphic tees to nail care, I’m really proud of my list! But I can’t leave this post without giving a shout out to bloggers, too.

While Fabulously Average is my hobby, it also brings in a small income (trust me, peanuts but something). I don’t make enough quit my job and do this full time (not even close), but every few months I get a happy check from my affiliate platforms. When you shop via my blog or Instagram, you are in fact supporting a small business. I cannot thank you enough for that support! But it’s more than just shopping via links – supporting bloggers and small business includes a shout out via your social media accounts, subscribing to a newsletter, commenting and engaging on posts, site visits – you know, the simple, easy stuff. People don’t realize it, but every little bit of support helps. And for bloggers, those simple acts show brands that you are worth investing in.

Anyways, let’s just jump right in. Here are some of my favorite small shops across the interwebs. Feel free to look them up and show some support! Daisy Natives does a little bit of everything but I especially love their cute graphic tees. Little Blue Olive sells the cutest, most creative party hats for kids and adults! If you’re looking for nail polish with clean ingredients, Olive and June is for you! If you’ve been around here for a while, you understand my love for Natalie Borton jewelry. From family portraits to mugs with feminist messages and even pop culture illustrations, Sophie and Lili sells the some of the most amazing merchandise.

What are some of your favorite small businesses?
