The first try-on post of the new year! Can I get a woot-woot!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw last weekend’s at-home try-on. I figured I’d provide some background if you missed it because you might be confused about ALL THE THINGS that got ordered. Right before the new year, I decided I would participate in a No Shop January. My shopping got out of control in 2019 and I wanted to start 2020 fresh and with a “clean slate”. What better way than to ban shopping? I know, I’m crazy but I’ve gotta start somewhere, right? Anyways, since I had decided on No Shop I thought I’d get in a few more purchases before the New Year. And that’s exactly what I did. Here is a look at everything I bought.
Shop the Post:
The skirt and the over-the-knee (OTK) boots were new purchases. I love that the skirt is something that can be dressed up or down, depending on footwear because it enables me to get my bang for the buck. The boots are great, especially at the price point. The turtleneck is a piece I’ve had all season, see a few ways I’ve styled it here.
I’m a big fan of this top, I also own it in navy. This is a great basic to have but in a fun color. I foresee tons of wear out of this puppy. Be aware that the material is a little stiff but not constricting if that is a concern.
These joggers are too good! I’d been looking for one’s like these for a long time so I was happy to snag ’em on sale! The color, the drawstring waist, the large pockets – perfection! Fit is true to size and as a reference, I’m 5’8″ and these hit me right at the ankle.
This sweater was another winner! If you haven’t noticed, I have a thing for graphic tees so adding a graphic sweater was the natural next step! I love that this one is understated yet makes a grand statement with the phrase POWER WOMEN. YAAASSS!
I had originally gotten these joggers to be the joggers of my dreams but they fell short. I sized up for length and in doing so I just got a ton of extra material. Hindsight 20/20 I should have stuck to my usual size. The material is super soft but these just didn’t work for me.
I said it during the original try-on on Instagram and I’ll say it again – if there is one thing you purchase from this it’s these leggings. My goodness are they fantastic! They are incredibly soft and I love that they have tapered ankle holes. These leggings are high waisted but also come with a drawstring. Personally, I would say they have medium compression which is both great for lounging around and for working out!
I love how this sweater is both a neutral yet makes a statement, the sleeves are so much fun! Something to note, I believe there’s some wool in the fabric so there is a tiny bit of ich to is. If you are sensitive to that, I wouldn’t recommend this sweater for you. Jeans are old but they are a great straight leg option if you’re looking for one.
These jeans arrived after the original try-on hence the difference in background cleanliness. Everyone and their mom own these jeans so when they went on sale (still are!), I had to try them for myself. I get the hype! They are stiff, like true denim, and they are a hybrid between straight leg jeans and skinnies. I recommend sizing up.
Not until I had this shirt in my cart did I realize it’s a pajama shirt. But I don’t care because it’s so cute! I love the piping and the fun print. This will be perfect in the summertime but you better believe I’ll be wearing it under sweaters this season;)
Is this my dream blouse? YEP! Trust me, I find it completely absurd to love an article of clothing as much as I love this top, but can you blame me? Look at how beautiful it is – it’s a piece of art. I had been stalking this top for a long time so when I found it on sale for under $100, I couldn’t say no. Fit is true to size AND it comes in a different color-way.
