No cleaver post today. Just styling up a chambray shirt and a maxi dress for some summer style inspiration.

A few weeks ago I was in a pinch and didn’t know what I was going to be wearing to church. I flipped through my mental Rolodex and landed on a look from this How to Style post styling a floral maxi dress I’d fallen in love with earlier this summer. One of my favorite things about this little old blog is being a source of style inspiration for myself, I sure hope I’m one for y’all too.

I can’t stress this enough, but having the perfect maxi dress hanging in your closet is must all year around. Same goes for a classic chambray button-down! Both can be wardrobe staples each in their own way. The floral maxi can transition from season to season simply by switching up the accessories. I already plan on pairing it with some cute cognac booties, a felt wide brim hat, and a denim jacket for fall.

The chambray short-sleeve button-down is another wardrobe workhorse. It can be paired over clothes, like done here, or underneath. It also can be tucked into dark denim or paired with black cutoffs and tied at the waist. Definitely a must-have in any gals closet, if you ask me. The endless styling possibilities for the two pieces are endless!

Check out how I’ve styled chambray in the past here and maxi dresses in the past here!
