Drugstore Concealer Review

I put 3 top rated drugstore concealers to the test. See which, if any, got my stamp of approval!

During my trip to Cancun back in February, I dropped and smashed my tried and true Tarte Shape Tape concealer. Tragic, I know, especially because I had just purchased said concealer and it ain’t cheap. As soon as I got home I contemplated purchasing a new tube but couldn’t justify spending another $27 on that damn thing, no matter how good I think the formula is.

Instead of shelling out the cash, I headed to my local Target (always saves the day!) and picked up 3 drugstore concealer options. I couldn’t commit to just one, in case it sucked, and figured three options was a good test group. Note, I’ve been trying these concealers for six weeks now, switching off every three or so days. In that time, I’ve gotten a good feel for what I like and/or dislike from each option. Read on for my findings!

Drugstore Concealer Review:

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – This used to be my go-to back in the day, so I figured I’d pick this up in case the other contenders didn’t perform well. This concealer is lightweight but packs a punch when it comes to coverage. I also love that it doesn’t cake up on the skin and has a flawless, natural finish.

NYX Professional Makeup Hi-Definition Photo Concealer Wand – First things first, out of all the options tested, I think this concealer had the most blendable coverage. I like how lightweight it is and it covers dark circles, blemishes, and redness rather well. Another plus is that it comes in tons of shades so you’re sure to find one that suits your skin tone!

Maybelline Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer – I really wanted to like this product and I don’t really like giving a negative review on something, but it has to be said. While this is very creamy and smooth to apply, it blends away to nothing. I’d say I have medium range of dark circles, #momlife, and this doesn’t seem to cover any of it. All this seemed to do was accentuate the dark circles because of the sheerness of the formula. Personally, I would not recommend this product.
