I ask readers and
My local Target store debuted swimsuits like a month ago, which actually came in handy for my Cancun trip, but I still think they were a little premature in putting up the displays. I can say that they are pretty much killin’ it in the swimsuit department, there are so many cute pieces! In a recent visit, I tried on a few mom-friendly options. So just in time for spring break, I’m sharing a few swimsuits I spotted at Target.
For sizing reference, I’m 5’8″ with a pear-shaped frame. I’m currently a size 6/28/S-M.
Animal Print Ribbed Bralette Bikini Top – One of my hidden talents is depicting that I have a small chest – I do not, my friends. I haven’t gotten sized recently but last time I checked I was a 34D. Yep, you read that right. Because I’m busty up top I need bathing suit tops that really support the ladies. This bralette bikini top is so good,
Animal Print Ribbed Cheeky High Leg High Waist Bikini Bottom – I really wanted to like this new style of bikini bottoms – the high leg trend – but folks, it’s just not for me. I don’t think it has anything to do with body type but more so on preference. I love a good high waist bottom but I need the leg-line to hit at the most flattering part of my leg.
Also, If you’ve got junk in your trunk and you want to keep it supported, these are not the bottoms for you. My ass was hanging out, way out, and not in the cute way. Fit is TTS, wearing a large.
Pique Tie Front Bikini Top – I love this top and it was super supportive! I loved the fabric and the color is fun for summer, too! This went home with me.
Pique High Waist Bikini Bottom – Another winner! I love the fit of these bottoms and how high waist it was in the most flattering way. Also, full booty coverage! Fit is true to size, wearing a large.
Tie Front Bikini Top – I really wanted to like this top. A bikini top with an underwire is a godsend for chesty ladies but something was off on the sizing. I would recommend sizing down, it seemed to run big.
Mesh Inset High Waist Bikini Bottom – These bottoms are so adorable and the fit was a really nice. I think the mesh material made it slimming and you get really good butt coverage with these. Fit is TTS.
Cut Out One Piece in Mauve Dot – Another cute suit in theory but the fit was strange. The top portion had an underwire, which I loved, but the bottom seemed to run small. I also think it was a little too padded in the bikini section which didn’t bode well for me. If you’re in-between sizes I would recommend sizing up.
Strappy Front Scoop Back One Piece – This was a cute mom-friendly suit. The back was so fun and the front is flattering. I do think it runs small, so I suggest sizing up. Wearing a medium but would much prefer a large.
Lace Up One Piece Swimsuit – I absolutely loved this one! The colors the cut – all of it is so flattering! The lace up detail is so fun and the v-neck is flattering to the ladies;) I would recommend sizing up, it was a little tight around the bootie.
Ribbed One Piece Swimsuit – This was another winner, it almost went home with me. I loved the colors and the print. I was also a fan of the square-ish neckline, I think it was flattering. True to size, I’m wearing a medium.
Eyelet Keyhole One Piece Swimsuit in Rouge Pink – The color of this suit was beautiful and universally flattering however the cut was a little tricky. I would suggest sizing up.
Cut Out Elastic Trim One Piece Swimsuit – So I’ve been eyeing this swimsuit for a while. I absolutely adore the cutout and the tribal print lining is so freaking cute. However, something about the cut is strange. Maybe it’s not made for hippy women because the model looks adorable but I digress. I recommend sizing up 1.
