My Winter Skincare Routine

Finally sharing a highly requested post – my morning and night time skincare routine specifically for the colder months of the year!

I recently did a poll via Instagram Stories on what type of content you’d like to see more of, and without a doubt beauty was high up on the list. Many readers requested a post solely dedicated to my skincare routine, which is awesome! Y’all know how much I love skincare so putting this post together was fun!

Since we’re well in the depths of winter, I thought I’d specifically share my cold weather skincare routine because cold weather = dry skin and nobody wants that. This time of the year I like to add products into my routine that add some extra hydration and keeps my skin glowing despite the chilly temps.

Before we jump in, I have to say that if you’re going to invest in anything, invest in your skincare. When I was younger, I would spend all my money on makeup but as I got older, I realized that the products I use to take care of my skin are the one’s I should be investing in. They make the difference! The skincare products we use set the tone for everything else we put on our face, so it’s worth a little TLC. Trust me!

Morning Routine

Step 1: Face Wash

First things first, face wash. It’s not the fanciest face wash there is but I’ve been using this one for years and it’s become a staple in my morning skincare routine. It’s gentle on the skin yet leave it feeling squeaky clean which I appreciate.

Step 2: EyeCream

I’ve been using this cream for a little over a month now and I love it! I lightly tap half a pump under my eyes and brow bone, with my ring fingers. Wrinkles begone, oh and it’s made with safer ingredients.

Step 3: Serum

Serums are fairly new to my skincare routine but trust me when I say, they are a must! This one leaves my skin so glowy and hydrated throughout the entire day, and it smells amazing! One pump does the trick.

*Pro Tip: Wait about a minute or two before the next step to allow the serum to absorb into your skin and work it’s magic!

Step 4: Moisturizer

This is another fairly new addition to my arsenal but so far, I’m loving it! Super moisturizing and it leaves my skin looking smooth and hydrated. This is another moisturizer I love.

Nighttime Routine

*Note, this routine does not include the heavy-duty products, like this spin brush or this vitamin C oil (and a few more goodies), which I use ever 3 days. I can do a separate post on my biweekly routine, if you’d like. Just let me know!

Step 1: MakeupRemover Wipe

This is a drugstore favorite I’ve used for years and it still does the job better than any other makeup remover I use. It takes absolutely everything off!

Step 2: Face Wash

Yes, I do have a different nighttime face wash. I really love this one because it’s gentle and super moisturizing. It also removes all my makeup from the day without much effort.

Step 3: Toner

Next, I put a few drops of this toner on a cotton ball and swipe it all over my face. It leaves my skin feeling extra clean. *Note, I only use this product every other day.

Step 4: EyeCream

Back to this eye cream! When I can, I try to use the same products from my morning routine before bed, too.

Step 4: Hydration Serum

I’m pretty sure this Serum is meant for the morning but I like to use it at night. It’s super hydrating and I wake up with brighter skin!

Step 5: Moisturizer

Lastly, I really like this moisturizer because it adds another level of hydration to my skin which is needed in the winter. I wake up with baby soft skin!

There you have it, my winter skincare routine. It may seem excessive, maybe because it is, but my skin has never looked more radiant and that can be hard to achieve when the temps are low and the air is dry. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you have any questions!
