What I Bought from the Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale + 3 Tips to Look Pulled Together

A breakdown of my most recent Sephora purchases as well as my top 3 tips for looking instantly put together!

photo DSC_1399_zpsdricatsl.jpgA few weeks ago I shared what I’d been planning on snagging from Sephora’s Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale. Today I wanted to give y’all a rundown of what I actually purchased and my thoughts on how they’re working, thus far. I’m also spilling a few secrets on how to look instantly put together everyday, without much fuss!

What I Bought from the Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale

First up is the Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder. In my recent Beauty Empties post, I mentioned that I was switching up my setting powder game from the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores™ Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder to a new one. I settled on the Lock-It powder and so far I’m loving it! It leaves my skin looking poreless and smooth and reduces shine.

I also snagged the Viseart Theory Eyeshadow Palette and it has easily become a go-to! The shades are so beautiful and apply super smooth on the lids. I love that the palette comes equipped with both matte and shimmer shades and is compact for travel.

In the original Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale post I said that I wanted to pick up the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate because it came highly recommended. While shopping the sale I came across this Healthy Skin Squad kit and just couldn’t pass it up for the price! It included the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, the Ultra Facial Cream and a Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment! I’ve used and loved the Ultra Facial Cream so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed with any of the products, and I was right. I am loving this little trial kit and have been using the products, with the exception of the Ultra Facial Cream which I use nightly, twice a week after I use my Vanity Planet Spin for Perfect Skin – Complete Face & Body Cleansing System (read about the cleansing brush here).

3 Tips to Look Pulled Together

I think as a working mom I’ve mastered the art of looking pulled together without much effort. I’ve had to learn the hard way a few tricks that helped me efficiently and effectively look like I tried. I thought I’d share my sage knowledge with this community and share my top 3 tips!

1// Highlighter is the friend you didn’t know you needed! I love this one because its subtle and adds radiance to your skin without going overboard. By dusting on some highlighter at the tops of your cheekbones you achieve a ‘glow from within’ look that helps you look less tired and more youthful!

2// A little eyeshadow goes a long way. I already talked about why I love this palette and can’t recommend enough the swipe of a creamy shadow to help your eyes pop! Bronze shades look great on just about every eye color so that would be your best bet, especially if it has a little sheen/shimmer to it.

3// Accessorize! I tied a dainty scarf in my pony tail one day and you wouldn’t believe the number of compliments I got. And my outfit was so basic. The addition of a statement accessory can do wonders for your overall look. Whether it’s statement earrings or killer mules,  your accessorizes can be make your outfit!
