If you’ve been a reader of the blog for some time now, then you are well aware of my love for maxi dresses. I love them and I love them hard. They have a bohemian vibe to them that just speak to my hippy spirit! They’re easy, cute and don’t require me to shave my legs – so basically I’m winning on all fronts when I sport a maxi dress. But, if you have a pear shaped body, they don’t tend to be the most flattering of silhouettes.

But I think I’ve cracked the code, my friends, and it’s way simpler than I would have thought. After examining my collection of maxi dresses, and assessing what makes them work for my body type (i.e. a pear shape), an obvious bag of bricks hit me across the face?! The secret? The fit! Duh, I know right?! If you are rocking a pear shape body, like myself, it is essential to look for a cinched waistline. I can’t attest to this for others, but it works for me and it works for me well!

I can’t wait to wear this well into the spring. However, I’m thinking of rocking it one more time this winter season. What do you think, maybe with an oversize sweater?
