I love Fall! And one of my favorite things about the season is all the outdoor activities to do with kids one of which is hit up Fall Festivals! One of our family traditions for this time of the year is to hit up Cox Farms located in Centreville, VA. There is just so much to do there – from hayrides to a corn maze, to rope swings and giant slides – the list of activities is never-ending! It’s a highly popular seasonal local so it’s tricky to find a time to visit when it’s not swarming with hundreds of other families. But you can’t beat the apple cider donuts or the festival market, where you can buy anything from cider, to pumpkins, kettle corn, and pies. If you’re interested in hitting up Cox Farms this Fall, you’ll want to do so before they close for the season on November 8.
This past weekend the family and I ventured to a different Fall Festival at Amazing Farm Fun/Ticonderoga Farms. While the market isn’t as stocked with goodies as the one at Cox Farms is, Ticonderoga is a hidden gem you must visit if you are local. Just a few minutes away from Cox, in South Riding, you’ll find this super kid friendly farm perfect for a morning of exploring! You’ll find a petting zoo where kids can feed the goats, tons of tiny cabins to play in (my favorite part!), big slides, a pillow bounce, a bamboo maze and so much more! The grounds are more expansive than Cox Farms so it doesn’t seems as packed, which personally I liked because Remy could run ahead of us and I could still see her among the people. All in all, this place will be a part of our seasonal Fall tradition!
