Better late than never, huh? Sorry for the delay of the July BOXYCHARM review and unboxing. But it’s up so here ya go! The July box was titled “Cutie Pie” and came complete with five products; here are my thoughts…
Blinc Electric Eyes Palette (full size – $45) I can’t deny that this palette was good – five really creamy shades, and the pigments were on point. However the colors weren’t my favorite. They were all metallic which made them unwearable for my everyday. This palette will be getting donated to my little sister.
bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo (full size – $32) This product comes equipped with a setting powder and a finishing powder and they are amazing. They are so finely-milled and blend out seamlessly. The finishing powder adds a subtle glow while the setting one blurs out pores. I will definitely be keeping this in my arsenal for when my current powders run out.
ColourPop Ultra-Matte Lip (full size – $6) I love ColourPop products and have a few of their matte lippie sticks, shadows and highlighters so I can vouch for how good they are. I dig the formula of this, always have, but the color my friends…not my favorite. I received the shade Bleep and while the looks more mauve in the tube when you apply it’s way more brown. I don’t hate it but for summer I’m not a fan.
Project Beauty Spray Set Go Makeup Setting Spray (full size – $32) I don’t like setting spray’s so I knew instantly that I wasn’t going to like this. I was right. I just don’t get the point. They leave my hairline wet and leaves my skin too dewy. I guess if you’re looking for that sort of thing, you’ll like this spray.
WinkyLux Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil (full size – $12) So this is supposed to be universal and while it worked for me I wonder how it works for blondes. I guess this brow pencil is good, not as good as the one I use on the daily, but it’s okay. Maybe when I run out I’ll try this in the interim.
Total box value: $127
While I think this box was good in theory, I also think my preferences in makeup doesn’t make this box my favorite. There were tons of quality products but just not ones that I see myself using often, I already have my arsenal solidified and these don’t make the cut. There were seriously some heavy hitters in this month’s box but I just don’t see anything becoming a go-to. Let’s hope the August box knocks it out of the park.
