Happy 4th Birthday, Remy Maryn!

July 11, 2013 marks the day my sweet Remington Bear made me a mother. I still remember her saggy, cubby cheeks, that head full of jet black hair and the most intoxicating, beautiful baby smell – I fell in love. All my fears about the type of mother that I may not be for her melted away and I was changed forever.

Remy is the definition of a first born child. A perfectionist, through and through, determined, focused and so precocious. I’m convinced she’ll have a hand at changing the world for the better. Remy is incredibly intelligent and intakes information so well. Her memory fascinates me. She asks so many questions and they are all the right questions. I hope she’s always so curious.

As much as she drives me crazy, I love this little girl so much. She changed my life in so many ways, but most of all she changed the way I look at family. From the way she expresses her emotions fully and so candidly, to the way she nurtures and truly cares for her little brother. Remy is a force.

I love you, my Remy Rems. Thank you for loving me and for accepting me for all of my imperfections. Mommy is so proud of you, happy birthday!
