So today I am trying something new! A few weeks ago I got to venture out, sans kids, and I figured I’d do a review of some of the pieces I tried on during my shopping trip! I always love reading posts like these on my favorite blogs so why not do a little round up myself, ya know?! And if this is something y’all enjoy, I can continue to produce this type of content. Let me know!
I had every intention of dedicating this post to items at Old Navy that I was really loving – and then I went to ON and nothing really spoke to me. What a bummer, am I right? There were a few pieces I was digging, including the mismatch two-piece bathing suit combo I included below and these sandals which are a great summer go-to, but there wasn’t much I was really diggin’. As a result, I ventured to the mall and hit up Gap, Forever 21 and H&M. There were a ton of pieces I forgot to capture on my iPhone, and some you will notice got snapped after the fact, but here are just a few of the items I tried on.
Oh, and as a reference point – I am 5′8″ with a pear shape frame. I am typically a M up top and wear 8/10 on bottom.
Forever 21 Mixi Dress (in floral) $27.90
Now, I really LOVED this dress and was this close to snatching it up but didn’t because of the straps. While I am no longer exclusively nursing, I still have big knockers so bra support is important to me. I can’t with the bralettes, they just don’t offer enough support, but if you are smaller up top I couldn’t recommend this dress enough! I love the fact that the buttons run down the middle and the slit adds a little bit of sexy. There is a back cutout that is really pretty too but I didn’t capture it.
H&M Scalloped Hem Shorts $34.99
Gah, I love these shorts so much, but right off the bat I do wish they were an inch and a half longer. The high-waist is everything – and forgiving with any woman with some pudge – while the delicate hem adds a little intrigue. And stripes, we all love them! Also, the fabric is cotton and has a linen feel to it so it seems like it might last more than just one season.
H&M ‘Girls Support Each Other’ Tee $9.99
The message on this tee sold me so you better believe I snatched it up! I The material is very stretchy and has a spandex feel to it.
H&M Ruffle Gingham Skirt (ON SALE) $15
The entire reason I went shopping was to find the perfect gingham skirt and y’all I found it! I am loving gingham for summer and have been searching for a black and white skirt for a while so I was super excited to find this one, on sale no less. The ruffle detail is so darling and the fabric does offer a little give, if you’re wondering. If you are unable to try on in-store I recommend you size up. I’m wearing a 10.
Old Navy Ruffle Trim Bandeau Bikini Top (ON SALE) $12.47
First off, I can’t believe I’m sharing a picture of me in a two-piece but whatev’s mama’s got curves;) Adjustable straps, fun print and holds my tata’s in, sold!
Old Navy High-Waist Swim Bottoms (ON SALE) $12.47
I’ve been on the hunt for a true high-waist bikini bottom so I was pleasantly surprised when I found it at Old Navy. These held me in real nice and weren’t too constricting. They also had seams in front that helped with tummy support. I love the animal print and plan on mixing and matching with the bandeau top as well as others in my bathing suit collection.
Old Navy Embroidered Top (ON SALE) $21
I’d seen Taylor Sterling wearing the Madewell version of this top and fell in love, hard, but wasn’t willing to shell out almost $100 for it. No thank you. When I saw this I knew it had to be fate, and the devil’s attempt at having me shop my children’s college fund away, LOL. But at under $25 I just had to have it. Had to.
Old Navy Double Strap Sandals $19.94
I’ve been seeing these sandals all over Instagram so I had to see what all the hype was about. I get it, they’re super comfortable and perfect for the mom on the go which is exactly what this outfit snap from the weekend was:)
Gap Stripe Wide Leg Crop High Rise Chinos (ON SALE) $19.99
Y’all know the obsession is real so when I spotted this pair at Gap for $20 I had to have them! I love how high-waist they are and obviously can’t knock the stripes. I’m also a fan of where they hit on my leg – right in-between my ankles and lower calves. (Ignore the uber messy room!)
