BOXYCHARM Review & Unboxing – March and April 2017

So I’m sure you found it strange that I hadn’t posted my BOXYCHARM reviews for both March and April. With life getting as hectic as it has and my blogging being as sporadic as its been, I feel bad that those reviews didn’t get posted on time. My apologies but better later than never, am I right?

The March box was dubbed Creepy Cute and came complete with a slew of products to get subscribers ready for Spring. The April box box was more geared toward prepping beauty lovers for the warm weather to come with a ton of products to ‘highlight’ natural beauty. It was named the Boho Glow box. Read on for my thoughts on the products included in both boxes.

March Box – Creepy Cute

Crown Brush SS023 Deluxe Fan Brush (full size – 18.99) I think if you’re looking for a contour brush this one from Crown Brush is for you. I cannot, however, recommend this if you are looking for a standard fan brush. I think it’s far too thick and dense to apply highlighter subtly.
Naked Cosmetics Urban Rustic Palette ($39.99) I can’t dislike this product enough. It is not for everday use, at all. I can stand behind the formula of the shadows, they are pigmented and so creamy but this is not a palette I will ever use for a daytime look.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (travel size – $16) This primer was the one item in the box that I did like. I’ve heard the hype of this product but it wasn’t until I actually applied it that I understood the colt following. It glides onto the skin effortlessly and blurs pores and fine lines.
RealHer Lip Liner (full size – $12.50) I received the shade, “I Am Unstoppable” and while the color is something I would wear in my everday the formula was too drying to wear comfortably throughout the day.
RealHer Matte Liquid Lipstick (full size – $15) I received the shade, “I Am Fearless” and again, the color is perfect for the Fall/Winter season but the formula was very drying.

Total box value: $102.48

Gah, I hate to poo poo on this box but it was just so bad. I’d like to think that maybe it wasn’t the fact that it was bad but that the products didn’t really suite me and my makeup preferences. However I really didn’t like the box and can only say one product will be used while the others will be given away.

April Box – Boho Glow

Cargo Cosmetics Lip Gloss (full size – $16) I wish I was a gloss wearer because I love the subtle shade of this one. I received the shade, “Tuscany” and the only caveat I had with this gloss is that it had little specks of shimmer which I don’t like in my makeup.
Hairgurt Smoothing Yogurt Shampoo (travel size – $10) This shampoo smells divine and from the handful of uses I think it’s leaving my hair very moisturizing. Free of sulfates, parabens and all that other stuff that’s bad for your hair, this shampoo is a welcome product in my routine.
Measurable Difference Concealer Palette (full size – $19.99) Complete with 16 shades, this palette can be used to conceal, brighten and contour. However I didn’t use this because the formula didn’t look like it’d be something I’d enjoy on my face, a little too creamy for someone with combination skin.
OFRA Cosmetics Rodeo Drive Highlighter (full size – $35) I’ve heard a lot of good things about this highlighter and it didn’t disappoint. Add an amazing glow to the skin, this will be perfect with a little summer tan!
PUR Blend Squad: 3-Piece Contour Blending Sponges (full size – $36) I was very hopeful for these but was let down. The one I tried was way too hard which didn’t help with blending. It also sucked up a lot of product which sucks.

Total box value: $116.99

Now this box get’s my kuddos! While not all the products get a thumbs up, the majority of the box get a gold start, for sure! I love that the April box came equipped with beauty tools, hair products and the standard makeup. All it was missing was a skincare item. Maybe next time;)
