Go-To Outfit Formula

As part of the style resolutions I set for myself for the new year, I want to share more casual, everyday outfits with y’all since it’s something that is not shared quite as often as my more dressier looks. In keeping with that goal, today I bring you this ensemble from a couple weeks ago. Anticlimactic, isn’t it, but in reality this is one of my go-to, no-brainer outfit formulas.

Because my day job (yes, I am a blogger with a legit 9-5) allows for casual attire, I wear a lot of these types of outfit combos, i.e. blouse/graphic tee + cardigan/blazer + skinny jeans + flats/booties/sneakers – you catch my drift. It’s a super simple formula to throw on in the morning when I’m barely functioning, and I am able to tweak the look based on the activities for the day.

Sometimes I apply this combination when I want more of a tomboy/rocker feel, like in this look from two years ago or this one that’s more subtle. This formula is great for just about anyone because it can be edited to fit your personal style and lifestyle. Mom’s can swap the booties for sneakers or flats and add an oversized tee for errands on the go. It’s simple, it works and I love that I always feel put together without much effort. And that, my friends, is a win.
