I’ve complained enough in the last several months for all of you know that 2016 was not my cup of tea, so we’ll skip the unpleasantries and get to what this post is all about. First, I’d like to dig into what I’ve got planned for the New Year as it relates to my personal growth goals and aspirations for the blog. Then I’d like to do a quick review of the past year and share top posts, some highlights from the last twelve months and sprinkle in few of my favorite looks. I hope you enjoy this post and I’ll see you in 2017!

My major goal, or resolution if you’d like to call it that, for 2017 is to recommit myself to our Lord and savior. My faith is something that I completely let go of in 2016. Sure, I went to church, worshiped on my way to work every so often and I prayed every now and again, but I wasn’t a committed disciple. I abandoned my mission to learn about His grace, His sacrifice and His love for me. To be honest, I’ve felt like an empty vessel of myself, going about the motions of what a Christian must say or do. I’ve felt so lost.
I’ll be going through a lot of changes in 2017. And with those changes I anticipate a lot of inner turmoil, but I have to remember that I’m not alone. I’ve got my family to lean on, friends, an amazing husband and most importantly a loving Father. He will help me through and be my flashlight in the fog. But I have to seek His guidance, His strength, His unconditional love. In the New Year I really want to embrace my role as His daughter and hand it all to Him.
When it comes to the goals I’ve got for Fabulously Average, well they’re not as concrete as in years past. It’s not that the blog will be taking a backseat but that I’m still trying to figure out my vision for this little space of mine. I want FabAve to continue to be a place where readers can gather inspiration both in their style journey, parenting and other aspects of their lives. However how I see all of it playing out in the New Year is still a mystery to me.
I do know that I’ll be retiring the Monthly Round Up series and really want to share more recipes and fitness focused posts in 2017. I will continue to share different ways to remix wardrobe items, my journey in motherhood and my thoughts on the latest and greatest in hair & beauty. I hope you’ll stick around to see what’s in store for FabAve for the New Year!
