5 Style Tips for The Momma-To-Be

This is the second time I’ve had to dress a
baby bump primarily during the summer months and while it can be a daunting task,
it’s not one a soon-to-be momma should have to worry about. I’m here to tell
you that you don’t have to sacrifice your personal style or comfort while pregnant, with a few
quick and easy tips any modern mom can master her style during pregnancy.

As a note, these items can be worn and re-worn during and after pregnancy, too!

1// There are no hard and fast rules that requires you to wear only maternity pieces. Consider sizing up, just a bit, in silhouettes
that offer room in your mid-section like swing, jersey or loose maxi dresses. By
sizing up you are adding some extra give for your growing baby bump, as well as
a few extra inches to the length. Also, always opt for breathable fabrics.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

2// The right proportions are an important factor for dressing during pregnancy. Once you’ve figured out how to accentuate your best features and minimize others, you can look (and feel) beautiful at any size.

3// I mentioned maxi dresses as a non-maternity
option so it was only obvious to include maxi skirts! They are a great item to
have on hand because they are easy and let’s be real, don’t require you to
shave your legs;)

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

4// Find a silhouette that works and play it up! If flowy blouses are your thing, make sure you have a few options on rotation.

These types of tops tend to be longer in length and allow room for a bump. Again, look for fabrics and knits that allow your skin to breath. It’s easy to overheat yourself when you’re a human incubator!

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

You a side ruching gal (like myself!), stock up on dress and tees that have what you feel most confident in. Because in the end, that’s the trick – confidence! When you become pregnant you lose your natural waistline, so for me side ruching is my best friend.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

5// You’d be surprised how much accessorizes play up an outfit, especially during pregnancy. That little bit of extra helps you look polished without much effort. Exhibit A: layers! A cardigan, vest or a blazer left open aids in making you look slimmer and taller.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

Something else that helps create a thinner look is going for a longer necklaces. Look for options that fall just above the bump.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);
