Budgeting Shopping

A July Spending Story

There was no June Spending Story post because
there was no shopping in June. Hooray for me! But as a result I fell off the
shopping wagon for the month of July. Hard. To remedy the situation, I’m going
to try and not shop for August. Whether or not I will accomplish this lofty
task, I’m not quite sure, but I can assure you that I’m pretty happy with my
purchase for the month of July. Read on to get the scoop!

Total
spent:$192.67 (saved:$10.69)

I started off the first of the month with the
purchase of the printed jumpsuit from Target (worn here), and no matter how bad I feel about spending so much
money this month, that jumpsuit was by far my favorite purchase. Possibly my
favorite purchase of the year! I’m thinking ahead folks, I can just see so many
styling possibilities for the Fall and Winter. The “Claudia” gladiator sandals (worn in black here and in cognac here)
were another major score for me, so much so that I bought in two colors. I just
think they are so my style and make summer footwear super easy for this mom on
the go. The palm print shorts (worn here)
was one of those deals you just don’t walk away from. Same goes for the star print
skirt
(coming soon to the blog), which I also
scored for under $10. The lightweight sweater (seen on Instagram here) was a random purchased that came about
because I spilled coffee on my ride into work. However I could see tons of
future wear from this classic basic piece. Now the lace skirt (worn here) and the French Connection
floral midi skirt (worn here) were
impulse buys from a retail therapy shopping trip that really didn’t need to
happen. Totally unnecessary but both super cute, so there’s that. In the same
shopping trip I scored some stellar ankle boots from Rocket Dog (coming to the blog soon) that I’m sure I’ll
be wearing all Fall/Winter long. I can’t say I have an MVP (most valuable purchase) for the month. I REALLY love the printed
jumpsuit and floral midi equally, so we’ll just call it a tie for the month of
July;)
