I recently found this pin on Pinterest and thought it was such a clever idea. Gifting a new momma a basket of ‘essentials’ to help get through those inevitable rough first days? Genius! I would have loved to have gotten a basket full of goodies, especially those first few weeks when a shower was a luxury and the promise of eating a meal was a treat. I specifically love the thoughtfulness behind the gift and the fact that it can be personalized for the mom-to-be!
One of my bestie’s, Meghan, is expecting her first wee one in January (Remy’s future BFF!) so I decided to personalize an essentials basket to gift her. Here’s what I included in her basket:
-
Lanolin cream – soothes, protects, and is a complete life saver!
-
Tea – a little calm for what can be a hectic day.
-
Face wipes – these are my favorites and are a godsend for days you can’t shower.
-
Chipotle GC – because finding time to cook a meal is impossible. Your hubby can easily pick up some Chiptole on the way home from work.
-
Luna Bars – Snacks get you by when you don’t have time to eat a well-rounded meal.
-
Hand sanitizer – because every new mom is a germaphobe.
-
Maxi pads – you had it easy for 9 months and now paybacks a bitch!
-
Mouth wash & Mints – because if you didn’t get to shower you probably didn’t get to brush your teeth either.
-
Book – late night feedings and you need something to pass the time.
What are some of your essentials?
