Being a woman can be hard sometimes. We have to sit when we pee, get a monthly reminder that we’re a little crazy, and have to wear bras all the time. But we also know how to get a man to do whatever we want, get to wear dresses, and we look better naked;) Today I thought I’d share my TOP TEN tips that every woman should know.

  1. Invest in a moisturizer with sunscreen (with SPF 15 or higher). No matter what age you are, protect your skin! It’s as simple as that. The daily use of a moisturizer that includes sunscreen helps skin from premature aging and reduces the risk of skin cancer.
  2. Every woman should know how to make at least one good pasta dish. You don’t necessarily need to know how to cook but having the recipe to a delicious pasta dish under your belt is indispensable. Mac & Cheese, lasagna, buttered noodles? Choose one and have the recipe in your memory for a rainy day!
  3. As part of your wardrobe essentials a great pair of black pumps goes a long way! Pick a style that suits your needs, make sure they are comfortable and you can walk in them, and you can conquer the world!
  4. A good book that you can recommend to an acquaintance. This should be something you aren’t embarrassed to disclose and says a lot about who you as a person. My top two picks would have to be The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference by Malcolm Gladwell and The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin.
  5. Every woman should have her go-to lip color. I cannot stress this enough! Go to the mall, hit up the beauty counter, and have one of the consultants help you pick the right lip color for your complexion. It’s all about your undertone. Don’t underestimate the power of a bold lip. Bad hair day? Throw some lipstick on! Impromptu happy hour after work? Throw some lipstick on!
  6. A guy friend that they can depend on. This guy friend doesn’t have to be a significant other either, but a true friend that can give you advice, buy you dinner, make you laugh, and lend a hand when you’re moving. If this man friend turns into something more? Well, that’s just a bonus!
  7. Please learn how to change a flat tire. This can save you on that inevitable rainy day when your phone has died and you can’t feel your fingers it’s so cold outside. Make sure to have an extra tire and a jack in your trunk at all times and know how to use them!
  8. Remember tip 2 above? Just like the perfect black pumps, the perfect LBD (little black dress) can take you to BOSS status. Make sure the fit is flawless on your curves and don’t be afraid to get it tailored to fit you like a glove.
  9. Every woman should have a movie that will make her sob like a baby. Sometimes all you need is a good cry! Every gal should have a collection of chick flicks she can rely on for a sick day. For me it’s One Day with Ann Hathaway and City of Angels starring Meg Ryan.
  10. Have the basics of how to write a gracious thank you letter under your belt. A well-written thank you letter is underappreciated. It can mean getting the job or putting a smile on someone’s face.

What would you add to this list?
