Time

(Family picture from this past weekend)

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about time. Time well spent, time passed by, time cherishing precious moments – you get the picture. Since being back from maternity leave I’ve been preoccupied with thoughts about being torn away from spending quality time with Remy. I’ve also been thinking about how I need to be spending my time now that I’m back at work. During my 3 months off most of my days were filled with nursing, changing, or watching a sleeping baby, and a great deal of that time was wasted away watching TV. Since most of the quality time with the family will now be done during the weekends, I’ve been thinking about how I’d like my time to become intentional.

With all that said, this past week I’ve been trying to fill my time with things that need to be done, as well as being present and in the moment when I’m spending time with the family. When Remy is sleeping I’ve been trying to work on blog posts, writing Thank You cards, and have been trying to pick up around the house. The fella has been really helpful in this whole intentional time spending project too! He’ll watch the baby to give me some quality time with myself to clean out my closet, to blow dry my hair, or to search for job opportunities. It’s really sweet of him to take time away from getting work done or playing video games. I see it as him spending quality time with Remy:)

How do you spend your downtime? Is it intentional?
