Pregnancy Update: Week 34

  • Shortness of breath is no joke! I can’t go up my stairs without feeling like I ran a marathon. The hubby finds it amusing.
  • Back pain is more consistent now:( Not too much of a bother but I have to readjust how I’m sitting/lounging every 30 minutes, which get annoying.
  • Total weight gain= 34 lbs. I’m trying to tell myself that it’s all for Baby Girl Mason’s health and water weight but c’mon?! 34 POUNDS?!?!
  • I’ve seen 2 of the four doctors at my OBGYN and I don’t really like either unfortunately. They seem to try to rush me out of each appointment. I still have 2 more to consult with so hopefully I find one I like enough to deliver Baby Girl.
  • My next checkup is next week, after that I’ll be going in once a week. So close!
  • Current cravings: sea salt pita chips, fruit (strawberries, mango’s, bananas), cereal, and popcorn.
  • Heartburn is still in full force. I’m trying to avoid dairy and spicy foods (triggers) in the evenings but sometimes it’s hard to do so. Thank goodness for TUMS!
  • Sleeping is starting to cause enough of a problem that it wakes me up. I’m surprised that I’ve been able to avoid purchasing a body pillow up until now. I’ve heard so many pregnant friends talk about how they can’t sleep without it and I’ve done just fine. The pillow in between my legs is still working great but my shoulders are starting to ache a lot throughout the night. Oh, and earplugs are a requirement now!
  • I FINALLY signed up for some classes! I personally don’t know if they will be beneficial but I guess we shall see. Next week I have a breast feeding class and later that week I have a baby preparedness class. I’m excited!
  • I’ve started reading (and bookmarking) Baby 411 to start getting a sense of things. It’s actually a really great book and has everything broken down perfectly. I highly suggest it for expectant mommies.
  • The baby shower my co-workers through me last week was pretty great! There were tons of treats, oodles of diapers, and the stroller/carseat combo I registered for; all things that we desperately needed! I couldn’t be more grateful and appreciative of all the work that was put into putting it together:)
  • Like I mentioned earlier this week, the nursery decorating is in full swing! If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (both @joannealma) then you’ve read and seen some sneak peeks of the progress. I will share pictures of the final product real soon, so hold tight!

Lastly, I wanted to thank you all for reading along and for being a part of the journey with me! It seems that these pregnancy updates are quite popular among friends, family, and readers! If things go according to plan there will only be 2 more of these to share…yikes! I really do love and appreciate all the support and advice you’ve imparted these last couple of months. I can’t wait to introduce y’all to Baby Girl; I’m pretty sure she’s eager to meet you too;)
