Pregnancy Update: Week 28

  • I am currently 28 weeks, which officially puts me in my third trimester! Where has the time gone? If feels like just yesterday I shared with you the exciting news.
  • From here on out, at least for the next couple of weeks, I see my OB every 2 weeks as opposed to seeing them every four. Yay, more medical bills…NOT! At least I get the chance to visit with all the doctors on call. I’ll be evaluating which I’d like to be there for the big day.
  • In regards to my constant complaining of morning sickness, I got a prescription for baby-friendly medicine. I’ve only taken once and it worked like a charm BUT I felt strange all day so I haven’t taken them again. Mind you, I haven’t had morning sickness since. Coincidence?
  • No new aversions to add to the list. Egg yolks still make me queasy but I’ve removed scrambled eggs from my diet, which is fine by me.
  • Lately I’ve been craving things I know I can’t have like beer, margaritas, sushi to name a few. Is that normal? Other than that I’ve been having a love affair with strawberries. Their just so yummy and tart!
  • I think we’ve got a name for Baby Girl Mason! It’s not official yet and I’m sure my husband will change his mind again but my name of choice is currently in the running. We’ll probably just take a list of names to the hospital and pick a name once she’s born.
  • I’m starting to get a little nervous about delivery. Possible ripping? Possible pooping? Possible C-section? S#!T just got real!? (Just being honest!)
  • We have our hospital tour scheduled for next week. I’m excited because we’ll get to see where Baby Girl Mason will be born and will be able to pre-register for delivery. Best invention ever, if you ask me! During this time we’ll probably sign up for birthing classes, breast feeding classes and anything else that’s necessary.
  • Total weight gain: 25 lbs. for a total of 165 lbs. My doctor actually politely suggested that I try and slow down the weight gain. I proceeded to politely roll my eyes in the most dramatic way possible. It’s not my fault baby girl is a fatty.
  • Sleeping through the night is a thing of the past. It’s impossible now, what with the strange dreams, the constant potty breaks, and the fella snoring up a storm I can’t make it through an entire night without waking up for at least 30 minutes. The pillow in between my legs is still working its magic. If I could get away with this trick for the remainder of the pregnancy that would be awesome.

For friends, family, and/or other pregnant ladies – is there anything else you’d like to know that I don’t share during these Update posts? Trust me, not really shy about any of this but I do want to keep the blog as ‘clean’ as possible. Feel free to email me at fabulouslyaverage@gmail.com
