Pregnancy Update – Week 22

  • I’ve noticed that any day now my innie will become an outtie. But I’ve been reassured by countless online articles that it will go back to normal after pregnancy.
  • Next scheduled doctor’s appointment is next Monday. I can’t wait to see how much she’s grown since my last visit. However I can wait to see how much I’ve grown since then. Womp, womp.
  • Apparently from here on out I should be gaining ½ pounds each week. Oh joy.
  • Baby Girl Mason is a kicker! She especially enjoys jumping up and down on my bladder on inopportune times, like conference calls or during a really good scene of the Walking Dead.
  • Currently craving steak and cheese subs/sandwiches. Seriously. Must. Have. One. Now.
  • I’ve been having morning sickness these last couple of weeks. Not fun, especially because I thought I was lucky enough to forgo that symptom of pregnancy. Running to the bathroom trying not to upchuck my breakfast is a new sport. Just ask my co-workers.
  • Current aversions: peanut butter, egg yolk, and toast.
  • Still not sleeping through the night, even with the ear plugs. I guess I should start getting used to it, right?
  • The back pain that would arrive after an 8 hour workday now makes an appearance as early as an hour in the day. Heart burn is more constant, although the Flaming Hot Cheetos are probably not helping. Did I mention morning sickness?
  • I’m finally starting to look pregnancy, which makes it easier to shop and get dressed. I’ve mastered the illusion of not looking pregnant from the front (stripes) and have invested in a couple pairs of maternity jeans thanks to H&M and Old Navy. But more on that later.
  • Naturally my hormones are starting to show their ugly heads. I get agitated very quickly, which only annoys me more. Knocked Up scene, anyone?
