Now that we know that we’re expecting a baby girl come July, I’ve been brainstorming ideas for the nursery. I was sure that I didn’t want a traditionally girly room (ahem, pink) and wanted to think outside of the box as far as colors go. While browsing my local Target a couple weeks back I happen to spot this owl pillow and immediately fell in love! The colors are so fresh and mellow and the owl itself is adorable. I instantly knew this would be the inspiration for what the nursery would become. And that’s when it hit me – an enchanted forest themed nursery! I plan on taking on this DIY project via Secondhand Magpie for one of the walls, and want to incorporate hipster touches of chevron and polka dot accents around the room. I also want to display bird cages in one of the corners of the room, which I’ve already spotted at Ross for under $10!

I know it is a big project to take on, especially for a pregnant woman but a friend has already offered to help and I plan on taking her up on her offer.
