Happy Monday my lovely loves! As you might have guessed, I’m still in Austin for the Texas Style Council Conference so I’ve left in my absence another round of reader questions that I have answered. This is the 2nd installment in the series of three, if you missed the first feel free to click here. Again, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email, Twitter or the comments section below if you have more awesome questions.I’ll be back (and better than ever) to my regular posting schedule this week. Miss you guys and see you lata!
Where do you like to shop?
I like to shop at places where versions of what’s on trend are available for affordable prices. Forever21, Asos, Old Navy, even Target are great places to get on trend pieces for half the cost (leopard jeans anyone?). I also love bargain department stores like TJ Maxx and Ross. They advertise that they sell last season’s clothes but it’s definitely worth the hunt for cute, inexpensive brand name items. However thrifting has become my new love. Something about finding someone else’s trash and making it my treasure for a dollar proves to be very satisfying.
What colors have you dyed your hair?
What colors haven’t I dyed my hair! When it comes to my hair I like to experiment. During college, my part time jobs consisted of receptionist positions for several high-end salons. Because I’m the first person clients see when they come to beautify themselves, my hair always had to look its best. So I’ve sported many different hairstyles and have had many different colors. From cherry red streaks, to purple, to a jet blue tint allover. I’ve even been a copperish blond. This is the most ‘normal’I’ve had my hair, so I’m looking to spice things up here soon.Ideas?
Do you have any tips for new bloggers?
First, I think it’s very important to find your individual voice. This will help you set yourself apart from the thousands of other bloggers out there posting the same trends, recipes, etc. You want to make sure to distinguish your blog as your own. Second, as long as you stay passionate about your content you’ll be happy with your product/blog. Once you’rein it for the numbers, free stuff or whatever reason you start to lose that originality and excitement that you started off with. Yes, you should be writing for your readers but don’t lose sight of the original intent of why you began your blog. Lastly, have fun! You don’t always have to follow the so called rules of blogging. If you’re a style blogger, you don’t always have to follow the trends if that’s not what you like. Think of it this way: it’s YOUR blog, so let it reflect you!
What do you do in your spare time?
Y’all, I’m kind of boring. I like to read, spend time outdoors and love physical activities. I really love to play sports and stay active. Unfortunately I don’t set aside time out of my day to do this but my favorite days are when the fella and I go hiking or take long walks with our pup. I enjoy watching movies of all genres and I’m a huge foodie.
Who are your favorite bloggers?
Hmm, this is a hard one to narrow down. I have a lot of blogs that I read religiously that aren’t even included in my Blog Roll(must update soon). I would say my top 3 are: Keira of A Pretty Penny (totally down to earth, witty, great sense of style that the ‘everyday girl’can replicate), Krystal of This Time Tomorrow (totally chic, pulls off masculine pants suites like a boss, I want her entire wardrobe) and last but not least Kendi of Kendi Everyday (the ultimate girl next door, extremely charismatic, the creator of the 30 for 30 challenge).
What spring trend are you looking forward to?
Hands down, without a doubt the trend I’m looking forward to this spring is floral pants. However I can’t seem to get my hands a pair that are affordable. I almost pulled the trigger the other day on a pair from Asos but decided to hold out. but I won’t be able to hold out for long.
