This weekend K and I scheduled a romantic getaway an hour away to Gold Canyon, AZ. We got a great deal from Travel Zoo for a 2 night stay in their cowboy cabin inspired villa, complete with a personal hot tub! When we arrived, we were surprised to see that they were celebrating their 5th annual Cowboy Corral weekend.

Friday was spent taking in the scenery, relaxing and eating a lot of food. The resort restaurant was a-mazing! We finished off the day with a dip in the private hot tub. 

On Saturday we woke up for the resort’s free continental breakfast. When we arrived we were told that for a simple upgrade of $5 we would be offered their complete warm breakfast buffet and of course we accepted:) It was delicious! We continued the day with a beautiful hike around the resort grounds, naps, pool time, lunch from Friday’s dinner leftovers and marriage time. {Marriage time consists of reading and completing the exercises from our Marriage Course workbooks.} That night we attended the resorts Cowboy Corral BBQ. Again, the food did not disappoint. We went to the different vendor table to admire the beautiful handmade jewerly and trinkets and ended the night with fireworks.

Today we spent the day with friends, football and took Chandler to the dog park. It was a great relaxing day, and weekend for that matter.
