EL Oh Ve Ee

Today marks the one year anniversary of K and I’s wedding. One year ago today there were beautiful flowers, a white dress, a severely fatigued man and a woman ready to married her best friend. Looking back there are few things that I would change: our DJ refused to put on the corny wedding music we requested and I didn’t get to eat any cake but the wedding was as wonderful as I could have imagined it to be.

So I thought that today I would share with you, not only some photos from our special day and our lives but a pretty hysterical story that I will forever tell when looking back at our wedding day. Once upon a time…

Long story short? K almost fainted at the altar. Yeah, I know, hilarious! He doesn’t like to be the center of attention and doesn’t like to have all eyes on him. So the pressure of our wedding day got to him and as the ceremony was starting he turned to me and said, “I can’t do this. I’ll be right back.” For most girls this would have been devastating but because I know K so well {and the fact that he had fainted at a previous wedding we were in last July AND felt woozy and almost went down during our rehearsal dinner} I didn’t freak out. Our wedding was held in a tent on the property of where are reception was taking place, so he went outside in the October air. The best man soon followed.

They sat outside for what seemed like an eternity as guests wondered what was going on. Our family on the other hand had an idea of what was going on. I believe our minister, a good friend of my parents-in-law, had made an announcement letting our friends and family know of K’s sensitivity. Some groomsmen hurried and grabbed chairs for us to sit in during the ceremony so that K wouldn’t lock those long legs of his. Soon after Junior {bestman} and K entered. Apparently a decision was made outside that all the guys would take off their coat jackets so that K wouldn’t stick out as the only one without his.

The ceremony went on as planned, except that we were sitting, lol. When it came time to recite our vows and the exchanging of the rings the chairs were moved and we stood face to face. It was perfect. I don’t ever remember being so happy in my life, as we became one unit– a family.
