Hello Colorado!

When: September 30, 2011

On Friday K and I woke up at the crack of dawn to make our flight to Colorado. We arrived safely and met up with his parents, brother, aunt and cousin and grabbed lunch at my father-in-laws fave dive sandwich shop. It was delicious! We then headed to the family landmarks of CO, K’s mom lived in Ft. Collins when she was younger so we visited her childhood home and all the local hot spots from when she was a kid. We also visited the CSU track that was named after K’s grandfather and took in the sights of the college town. It was nice to see the family history around town and listen to all the stories that the family had to offer. I felt closer to them instantly.

My outfit that day had to be versatile: comfortable enough to travel and warm enough for the crisp, fall weather of Colorado. Nothing seemed better than jeans and floral, colorful layers.

We proceeded to visit K’s childhood home and the families’ favorite Vietnamese restaurant that they frequented often back in the day. Another delicious meal! Day one was complete and it was the perfect first day of our vacation.
