Party On

When: August 27, 2011

On Saturday night K and I decided to throw a house warming party as a way to get to know each other’s co-workers. K’s good buddy Junior came to visit for the weekend from Virginia (in a successful attempt to escape hurricane Irene) so it was the perfect time to have a soiree.

The day was spent cleaning, cooking finger foods and preparing jello shooters. I also took advantage of a recent Groupon purchase for a haircut, deep conditioning treatment and blow dry. As far as the haircut went, I didn’t want to do anything too drastic (cause this is the longest I’ve had my hair since high school) so all that got done was the demise of some damaged ends.

The night on the other hand, was a good time had by all. If you follow me on the Twitter then you read that the party was a success. Friends were made, food was eating, and drinks were definitely had.

I decided to keep my outfit simple and minimal. High waisted short and stripes, can’t go wrong either way. I added a tiny pop of color with this new turquoise necklace from Rue21.

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I also hope that everyone back East, especially those effected by the hurricane, are safe and sound.
